It might be a good idea to do a factory reset before doing this just to freshen the OS up a bit. Take screenshots to keep track of what you froze. Give it a day or so, make sure everything works. Freezing will make the system think an app is uninstalled without it actually being uninstalled (making it really easy to undo missteps and trouble shoot). If your phone's rooted, make a CWM or TWM backup before starting. That probably the only way to get a stock and unaltered Samsung FW update as there is nothing to guarantee that the ones available for download in the forums have not been altered somehow.įor those of you looking for a more methodical approach, I would suggest you freeze a few apps at a time and gauge how it's affecting your system. Yes, it may not seem very useful as it will not update rooted phones but there is a work around for that (just unroot the phone, do update, reroot phone). Why is USB settings on this list? That's part of your settings menu for gods sake! How is that not absolutely essential for your phone? It also seems to me like a bad idea to uninstall the firmware update app (FWupdate). The Messaging that comes with the phone is one of the lightest sms apps I've ever used, yet according to this list it's bloatware. Without Google Search, you can longer search for anything on your phone: not even your apps or contacts. For example, if you uninstall Kies Wifi app, S Planner calendar no longer synchronizes with google calendar service (even you never use Kies on your PC). If you're planning to uninstall everything and starting from scratch then this list may (and I put a big emphasis on "may" part here) work for you but if you want to keep some of the stock Samsung apps, uninstalling files from this list will just foobar them. NOTE: Will probably disable certain hidden secret codesįactory Mode (.factorymode) NOTE: Both processes required for Settings/System Update functions NOTE: Phone, text, mobile data, wifi - all working So I have some treats for the fans of galaxy rush, here is a list of all safe and kinda safe apps to remove, very complete.
